Millionaire venture capitalist Greg Hutchings fears he will fail in his expensive attempt to change the England Hockey Board's policy of allowing players to represent England in this year's Hockey Masters World Cup only in their own five-year age category.

Hutchings, 65, wants to play for England in the over 60s, not over 65s, and has spent tens of thousands in legal advice to no avail.

He said: 'The EHB's attitude is unbelievable but unfortunately the Age Discrimination Act does not come into play until next April, which is too late for World Cup selection.'

Tim Henman's father, Tony, is in the over 70s team.
