Age discrimination - employment tribunal statistics

Research by Lewis Silkin and agediscrimination.info shows the rise in age discrimination claims.

The latest data from the employment tribunal services show that the number of age discrimination claims continues to rise. The number of age discrimination is now 6,800, a 79% increase over the 2008/09 figures.

Whilst the number of claims for most of the other strands of discrimination remains relatively flat (sex discrimination being a notable exception), there has been a steady increase in age discrimination cases.

A graph to show the rise in age discrimination claims compared to other strands of discrimination can be found here.

The data can be downloaded here.
