Miriam O'Reilly investigates age discrimination and ageism in TV

After winning her age discrimination case against the BBC, former Countryfile presenter Miriam O'Reilly asks Les Dennis, Arlene Phillips and Alan Yentob why the over-50s are overlooked in television.

O'Reilly, 53, was one of four female presenters who were dropped from Countryfile when the show moved from Sunday mornings to a peak slot on Sunday evenings.

Her replacements were Matt Baker and Julia Bradbury, who are both significantly younger than O'Reilly.

O'Reilly launched proceedings in the London Central employment tribunal early last year alleging ageism, sexism and victimisation. She succeeded at the tribunal on grounds of ageism and victimisation, but her claim on the grounds of sexism was not upheld.
