56 year old discriminated against for being close to retirement age

The Employment Tribunal has ruled in favour of a 56 year old NHS manager who it found had been discriminated against on the grounds of age. A less experienced, younger candidate was chosen for a promotion over the Claimant and the Tribunal held that the decision was based on the Claimant being close to her retirement age.
